Sketch

I'll be the first to admit I'm not very good at finishing things. This blog a testament to that, there is more than one occasion when I have mentioned a new project that I’m working on, but no post ever showing it completed. I get a new an idea, and the old one takes a back-seat.

It’s something I’ve tried to shake off for years, with no luck. Recently, following my return from a Mediterranean holiday I promised myself to at least sketch every single day. In the day I’m am often on the computer working on client's websites, and rarely get to pick up a pencil to draw; subsequently my art has suffered. Every time I do get round to drawing, I’m never happy with the outcome, therefore feel uninspired to finish it. The good news is that I have stuck to my promise, minus a few spontaneous nights out.

So with that all said, here is a sketch I have done for a new short comic I’m working on :)

With any luck I will finish it in time to get into the paper project!

Cory Godbey

This morning I was happily woken up to find large envelope on my doorstep. Inside the envelope was an original sketch by Cory Godbey. This is special for two reasons:

1.) It's an original sketch by Cory Godbey!
2.) Cory does not normally ship to England.

But wait, there is more, he also sent me a beautiful signed print! So this post is a little sign of my appreciation.

Thank you Cory!

For those who don't already have his site bookmarked, check it out.
And if you live in America, check out his shop and buy something!

*UPDATE!* Cory sent me an e-mail saying:

"Oh, and due to requests, I've updated my Etsy shop to include provisions for international shipping. My new sketchbook is listed to ship anywhere in the world, and I can make custom listing to ship any other items internationally."

So no one has any excuses now, go buy something! :D

My Canterbury Tale

On the weekend just passed I decided to go Canterbury (in Kent) with a friend. I live about an hour and a half away, but never got round to go visiting the district. If I had know how amazing it was I definitely would have gone to visit a lot sooner! We saw the Canterbury Tales, the cathedral, had a boat trip, and had one of the best meals I have had in a long while.

I fell in love with the cathedral so much that I had to post about it. I took maybe 50 pictures of it but none of them capture how amazing the building is. It has a lot of original elements mixed perfectly with restored ones. There is medieval design along side some quite modern pieces. Also another thing that I really enjoyed about the cathedral was the typography, lots of it all over. It's so grand and intricate that I am sure its one of the greatest buildings in the whole of the UK! It's definitely become my favourite.

Below are some of the pics I took (I decided to add a couple stupid photoshop effects to them just for fun).
